“I’m really proud of our dedication to providing a quality service,” said David.
“And I enjoy taking on new and exciting roles that further my experience and knowledge base that support delivery of that service.
“In my time with Nexus, I’ve worked my way up the ladder from having absolutely no experience to my current role. I actually qualified as an architectural technician after leaving school but that wasn’t for me so I took a labourer job with Nexus.
“I found I really enjoyed the work and from labouring, I’ve worked as a blaster, phosphate bath technician and then workshop manager before moving into my current role.”
David is also a qualified AMPP-certified coatings inspector, formerly Nace Level 2, so he’s responsible for making sure coating are applied in a safe and approved way. Which is where his watchwords come in.
“I have to make sure the correct customer specification has been followed as well as the product manufacturer technical and safety data sheets.
“This is equally important from preparing surfaces, with de-greasing, masking and blasting, to the application of coatings with anti-friction and fully protective paint systems, all the way through to post-coating inspection,” he said.
“It is so important that we work safely and do it right the first time.”
